Oven Repair
Convection, bake-element and thermostat calibration work on Viking wall ovens and range ovens.
Symptoms
What people describe when they call about this.
- 01 Oven runs 40 to 60 degrees below the set temperature
- 02 Preheat beeps long before the cavity is actually up to heat
- 03 Convection fan rattles or stops mid-bake
- 04 Door glass fogs and the hinges no longer pull the door shut
What it costs
The number arrives before the toolbag does.
Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.
Each line below is a range because the fault decides where inside it you land — a thermostat that only needs recalibrating sits at the bottom, a sealed system opened up and recharged sits at the top. Whichever it turns out to be, you are given one figure covering parts and labour and you agree it before work starts. Nothing is dismantled until you have said yes, and the $89 you paid for the visit comes off that figure the moment you approve the repair.
- Igniter or burner assembly $170 to $450
- Oven thermostat or heating element $200 to $430
- Refrigeration fan or defrost system $280 to $670
- Dishwasher pump or control $200 to $380
- Control board or touch panel $420 to $640
- Compressor or sealed-system repair $1,400 to $3,210
For scale, the alternative — a comparable Viking replacement, before installation — runs $7,060–$16,540 today. That is the figure the ranges above are measured against, and on the day we will say so plainly if yours has become the appliance that is no longer worth repairing.
How the visit runs
Three stages, no surprises in between.
- Step 1
We ask before we drive
Model number, what changed, and when. Half of Viking oven repair calls are narrowed to two or three candidates on the phone.
- Step 2
We measure on site
Readings, not guesses — and we show you the meter. If the fault is not what you were told it was, you will hear that too.
- Step 3
You approve a number
Parts and labour on one line, written down before anything is dismantled. The figure you agree to is the figure on the invoice.
Also on the van
The rest of the Viking kitchen.
- Range Repair Sealed-burner ignition, simmer control and dual-fuel oven faults on Viking professional ranges.
- Refrigerator Repair Built-in and panel-ready Viking refrigeration: cooling loss, defrost faults and door-seal problems.
- Dishwasher Repair Drain, wash-arm, heat and leak diagnostics for Viking integrated and panel-front dishwashers.

Door glass fogged over and the hinges no longer pulled it shut. New hinge springs and a fresh door seal on the lower cavity. It shuts properly again, though I waited longer than expected for the visit.

The bake element glowed at one end only and the broiler did nothing at all. He tested continuity on both, showed me the open circuit, and fitted two elements off the van in one visit.

The convection fan started grinding partway through a bake. A failed motor bearing, ordered against the serial number, back two days later. Straightforward the whole way, and the kitchen was left clean.
